Why contacting an osteopath for an emergency?
When you experience sudden pain or intense discomfort, it may be necessary to consult an emergency osteopath. Here are some common situations where an urgent osteopathic consultation may be recommended:
- In case of acute pain in the back, neck, joints, or muscles, which may result from muscle tension, a sprain, or another injury that does not require medical intervention.
- After experiencing a loss of mobility or a limitation of movements, which may result from poor posture, excessive muscle tension, or a misalignment of the joints.
- Following a trauma or fall, to assess and treat any potential musculoskeletal injuries AFTER seeing a doctor or having an X-ray.
Things to know about Emergency Ostheopathy
When is it useful to consult an emergency osteopath?
It is useful to consult an emergency osteopath when you experience pain or discomfort that affects your daily life or your ability to function normally and degrades your short-term quality of life.
Emergency osteopathic consultations can help relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote rapid healing of injuries.
For example, stiff neck and lower back pain or disabling knee pain or even sprains (with prior imaging) are common reasons.
When should you go to the emergency room rather than your osteopath?
If you experience severe symptoms such as intense chest pain, breathing difficulties, dizziness, vision problems, or sudden numbness, it is recommended to immediately consult a medical emergency service or dial the local emergency number.
In addition, if you have any doubt about the severity of the injury, it would be good to have a medical check-up as a precaution.
Finally, if the pain is of extreme intensity, you need emergency medical care.
Why trust an osteopath?
Because your osteopath is able to detect functional disturbances and reductions in mobility through their touch, which can generate tension and discomfort, and thus sometimes completely relieve severe pain.

About your Emergency Sessions
What can you expect as results from an emergency consultation with an osteopath?
During an emergency consultation with an osteopath, you can expect your practitioner to assess your health status, discuss your medical history, and perform a thorough physical examination to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms. Depending on your diagnosis, your osteopath may use manual treatment techniques such as joint manipulation, muscle stretching, and myofascial release techniques to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
Can I consult after a trauma?
Yes, it is strongly recommended to consult an osteopath after a trauma (accident or fall) but only after having had a medical opinion, even if you do not feel immediate pain. Musculoskeletal injuries can sometimes not manifest immediately and can worsen if they are not treated quickly.
An osteopath can assess your condition, identify imbalances, and start early treatment to promote rapid recovery and minimize long-term complications.
A very, very good osteopath: problems with the hip and knee, he takes the time to listen to you, spends a lot of time with his patients, really very competent, I recommend him without a problem!

I visited this osteopath for chronic back pain. The doctors’ medication treatments never really relieved me and the pain kept coming back. It’s been almost a month since I’ve been free. Thank you very much!

Législation
Law No. 2002-303 of March 4, 2002, relating to the rights of patients and the quality of the health system – Article 75 officially recognizes the title of osteopath in France.
The implementing decrees that frame this profession were published on March 25, 2007. They define the authorized osteopathic acts as well as the minimum pedagogical training necessary to obtain the diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.), like the one Yanis ARHAB received. (Decree No. 2007-437 of March 25, 2007 relating to the training of osteopaths).
The regulation is strict and each practitioner must register on the prefectural lists of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Affairs (DRASS) where he is assigned an ADELI number.
The ADELI number of Yanis ARHAB is: 140003823.
Osteopathy is not a conventional medicine and is therefore, as such, not reimbursed by Social Security.
However, a large number of mutual insurance companies cover part or all of the care.
